Carpet gripper pads prevent rugs from slipping. When you step on a carpet without rubber backing or support that has worn off, the carpet image and causes a person to fall. But gripper pads sometimes leave marks on the floor, and requires an occasional cleaning to remove all residues. Make a cleaning solution at home with a few simple ingredients that are safe for all types of floors.
Combine 3 cups of water and 1 tbsp. of liquid detergent. Dip the rim of a cleaning cloth in the soapy water. Wring out the excess water. Rub the wet side of the fabric of the carpet gripper pad, with the help of pressure when it is needed to remove stains. Dampen a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, and rub the pad marks that are not easily removed with mild soapy water.

Wet the top of the eraser, wring out the excess water, and use a little elbow grease to scrub away the marks. Wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any remaining residue when marks have been removed to your satisfaction. Carpet and rug institute recommends having your carpet professionally cleaned every 10 to 16 months. Use a carpet gripper for finished floor cloth to keep it from slipping.
