The black carpet tiles beetles is oval and measures about 3 mm (1/8 inch) long. It has six short legs and two antennae on the front. The black carpet beetle can be distinguished from other carpet beetles of the absence of any patterns or colors. Common patterns in other colors, carpet beetles are white, brown, yellow and orange. Check around the clothes for the larvae. These worms are longer than the adult beetle, measuring 6 mm (1/4 inch) long. Black carpet beetle larvae are striped with black and yellow colors.
